Churcholatry: Penyembahan Gereja
Istilah ini pertama kali saya dengar tahun 2006 dari seorang Seminar Leader di Hawaii, Mr. Aldo Fontao. Apabila sekelompok jemaat lebih mengutamakan gedung gereja, program-program dan para pemimpinnya melebihi ketaatan akan kebenaran Firman Tuhan, maka jemaat tersebut tidak sadar sudah masuk dalam penyembahan gereja. Tindakan ini halus sekali. Bahkan para pemimpin bisa jatuh dalam tindakan ini tanpa menyadarinya.

Gereja harus memahami alasan mengapa gereja didirikan (Misi). Gereja harus bertujuan jelas (Visi). Segala kegiatan harus menuju kepada tercapainya Visi dan Misi Gereja. Itulah efektivitas. Jangan menyamakan aktivitas dengan efektivitas. Jika suatu kegiatan (aktivitas) tidak mengarah ke tercapainya Visi dan Misi gereja, itu berarti pemborosan dan kesia-siaan. Pemborosan dan kesia-siaan itu dosa. Lebih baik kegiatan itu tidak usah diadakan.
